First Day of School

Daily Obsessive Google Rank Check:
Pool Cues: #1
Pool Cue: #1 (Sweet!!)

After a really long winter break, Westwood College is back in session.  Only teaching one course this term (Internet Marketing), but I’m totally pumped about it.  Over the past few months, I’ve been working on completely retooling both the Internet Marketing and Customer Service classes I teach, so this will be the first live run with my new content and the new textbook.

On another happy note, it seems I was able to get PoolDawg back to #1 for the term pool cue on Google again.  Meanwhile, the work in progress that is “billiards” continues to be a struggle.  I’ve managed to get us back onto Page 2, but right now we’re hanging out in the low teens.  Better than being on Page 5, but not by much.

Oh, and just as I predicted, choosing Chokelahoma was a mistake, as they failed to score twice inside the five yard line and lost by 10.  So, my official bowl record for the 2008-9 season closes at 21-11, an average of .65625.  Not bad for an amateur.

Wii Fit Follies

Pool Cue: #2

Well, I’ve gotta say I love the Wii Fit.  I never thought I’d be sore from it, but damn if it doesn’t provide a very decent workout.  I still can’t do some of the one-legged balance poses in yoga, but I am beginning to understand why yoga freaks are so into yoga.  Five days in, I’ve dropped 6.5 lbs, although I know a big part of that is due to the suck-ass diet I’m on along with an hour a day on the Wii Fit.

In other news, we’ve got the National Championship today.  My bowl record against the spread is up to 21-10, which is better than I’ve ever picked.  For tonight, I’m going with Chokelahoma +5.  I’m probably gonna lose this one, but I just can’t stand the Gators so I’m going with the Big 12.

Selling the House

After 12+ years of living in Superior, Colorado we’ve finally decided to move.  We listed the house with Brass Key Properties who did a really nice job of setting up the photo tours for Realtor.com and the other websites.  Assuming we’re able to sell the house in this lovely economy, we’ll be moving across town to Lafayette.  As for why, more space, closer to work (I should be able to ride my bike to work) and in our opinion, better schools.
