Its nice to know that I can always count on the Denver Nuggets to be unbelievably vile and inappropriate.  I opened up my copy of the Denver Post on the first Night of Hanukkah and was given this special gift as a reminder that people are stupid (sorry about the hatchet job with the scissors, its been a very rough week).

Yes, I know that this is probably unintentional and hopefully both Arby’s and Chris Anderson are embarrassed that they put a giant picture of a tatted up angry looking thug giving the old “sieg heil” salute, but still, gimmie a freaking break.

Just another reason to despise both the creators of the slimy, stomach churning “Big Mo” and of course my hometown Denver Thuggets.

So here’s the problem with Yiddish.  Its this great language that’s worked its way into the mainstream but it seems next to impossible to actually find a decent online Yiddish dictionary.  There are some decent lists of Yiddish words and phrases, but none of them seem to have a list of what everyone wants – everyday Yiddish terms so the goyim can understand what their meshugenah Jewish friends are talking about.

Is it a service, a personal passion or just me pandering to the Google Overlords to try and get some ranking on popular but non-competitive phrases?  Whatever it is, here’s your Yiddish Word of the Moment:

shiksa (shik-seh)
Definition: A non-Jewish girl.
Example: I totally scored me a hot Irish/Italian shiksa wife.

Like everyone, I’m making a list of things I want to do that I probably won’t stick to.  Generally speaking I think that New Year’s Resolutions are pretty stupid, but even so I still make them.  So here’s what I’ve got for 2009

Eat less crap and more fruits and veggies
Get on a regular workout regimine and stick to it
Find a temple in Boulder County and attend High Holiday services
Get back in running shape and run the Bolder Boulder

On the bowl picks front, I had a solid New Year’s day running my record against the spread to 17-8.  Today I’m going with Ole Miss +4, East Carolina -3 and Alabama -9.5.
